About Me

I studied at Istanbul Medical Faculty (Çapa Medical Faculty). After graduating, I completed my General Surgery residency at the same institution. I was assigned to Bayburt for my mandatory service. After a short period of service, I won a fellowship in Gastroenterology Surgery at Kartal Koşuyolu Training and Research Hospital.

During my residency, I obtained the qualification from the Turkish Surgical Association and was awarded the Nevin Baykent Health and Education Foundation Scholarship. This allowed me to go to the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, USA, where I worked and observed in the Liver, Biliary Tract, and Pancreatic Surgery Clinic for one year.

Upon returning to my country, I successfully completed the subspecialty exam and was appointed as a Gastroenterology Surgery Specialist at Bakırköy Dr. Sadi Konuk Training and Research Hospital, General Surgery Clinic. In this clinic, I performed numerous surgeries for pancreatic cancer, obesity, and gastric cancer, and over time became a responsible specialist in liver, biliary tract, and pancreatic surgery. I was recognized as a training unit by the Turkish HPB Association.

During this process, I also performed many endoscopic procedures due to my specialization. Due to my interest in pancreatic cancer, diabetes, and obesity, I worked for three years while also pursuing a doctorate in Medical Biology at Istanbul Medical Faculty, focusing on cell examination, stem cell research, and cell transplantation, and I earned my qualification in the exam I took. After receiving my associate professorship from the same institution, I was appointed as the Clinical Program Coordinator (Chief of Clinic) to establish the Gastroenterology Surgery Fellowship Clinic at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital. I had the honor of performing the hospital’s first pancreatic cancer surgery, first emergency case, and first obesity surgery. Surgical operations are still being conducted regularly, achieving an average of 70 elective cases per month.

During this process, I was accepted as a member of the Gastroenterology Surgery Commission of the Medical Specialization Board (TUKMOS). I obtained the title of Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences at Gelişim University. I continue my academic career as a faculty member, academic council member, and disciplinary board member at the same faculty. I also work at a private hospital. I was born in Sivas in 1980, am married, and am a father of one child.
